California Dreamin'

The Pictorialists experimented with a variety of techniques to introduce color into their images. They sometimes overlayed processes and hand-painted or tinted the prints. These images from California's iconic landscapes combine modern color prints with 19th century hand-applied emulsions, platinum over archival pigment.
